Finding the next pastor is one of the most meaningful seasons in the life of a church. It is both a responsibility and a privilege. This is an opportunity to seek God’s direction together and to trust His faithfulness in leading us forward. As a transition team, we are committed to approaching this process with prayer, unity, and discernment, believing that God is already at work preparing the right leader for this next chapter.
This page exists to keep you informed, encouraged, and engaged along the way. While much of the work happens behind the scenes, we want you to know that every step is being taken thoughtfully and prayerfully. The Transition Team has finalized the pastoral profile and is preparing to launch the search. The position is expected to be posted late September, with information shared on the Living Hope website, SBC and TBMB, followed by email and social media communication. The team is also developing interview questions and plans to finalize those later in October. Please continue to pray for wisdom, unity and God’s direction as we seek our next pastor.

August 23, 2026
The team finalized a seven-point church profile centered on our Foundation, Mission, Culture, Calling, Distinctives, Commitments and Future. These statements reflect both who we are today and where we believe God is leading us. The team also reviewed feedback from 141 congregational survey respondents and the results of the Church Health Assessment, completed by 25 pastors, staff, deacons and trustees. Both provided valuable insight that will help shape our church identity and the Lead/Senior Pastor profile and job description.
August 9, 2026
The Transition Team continues to make progress in developing Living Hope’s pastoral search profile, reviewing church identity, inventory, and the results of the church-wide assessment. Over the coming weeks, the team will prayerfully review this information and work toward finalizing the profile and intends to open the requisition and begin accepting resumes in September. (A transition team update was made to the congregation in both services.)
July 19, 2026
The Transition Team held a special called meeting to finalize the congregational assessment that will help guide the pastoral search process. The assessment will be available beginning Sunday, July 26, and will remain open through Sunday, August 9. Church attendees will be able to access the assessment through the church website, church email, and the church portal, with reminders provided during worship services.
July 12, 2026
The Transition Team continues to meet regularly as we prayerfully move through the pastoral transition process. During this meeting we discussed the identity of Living Hope Baptist Church and reviewed information that will help develop our church and pastoral profile. We also finalized plans for a church-wide assessment that will give attendees an opportunity to share their input.
June 28, 2026
The Transition team is currently in the Identity & Scope phase, seeking to better define who we are as a church while preparing for the next steps. The team will begin monthly updates to the church body on Sunday mornings as we move forward in this process.
