Devotional:

Discipleship requires three essentials: a resource (God's Word), a relationship (community with believers), and a reason (transformation, not just information). The wise men's story demonstrates centuries of faithful discipleship bearing fruit. Daniel taught the Magi. They passed down prophecies through generations. Finally, they worshiped Jesus. Now the question comes to you: are you engaged in discipleship? Are you in the Word and in a group? Christianity isn't a solitary faith we need each other to grow strong in the Lord. As we enter a new year, commit to getting in God's Word daily and connecting with other believers regularly. Let Jesus have His way through discipleship. The difference between where you are and where you want to be spiritually is discipleship.
