Worship and Wealth Surrendered
READ: Romans 12:1-2
Devotional:
Gold, frankincense, and myrrh gifts fit for a king, priest, and sacrifice. The Magi's offerings revealed deep theological understanding gained through discipleship. They recognized Jesus as royalty (gold), priesthood (frankincense), and the coming sacrifice for sin (myrrh). But before they gave their wealth, they gave their worship—falling on their knees before a peasant child. God wants your heart before your gifts. True discipleship produces both worship and generosity, flowing from hearts transformed by Christ. What are you withholding from Jesus? Your time? Resources? Dreams? Ambitions? Discipleship means surrendering everything, recognizing that all we have belongs to Him. The Magi's journey teaches us that worship isn't convenient or comfortable it's costly.
Reflection:
What offering is God calling you to surrender today?
