Full of Grace and Truth
READ: John 1:14-18; Ephesians 4:15
Devotional:
Jesus came full of grace and truth not grace without truth, nor truth without grace. This beautiful balance is what the world desperately needs to see in us. Truth without grace becomes harsh legalism that wounds. Grace without truth becomes weak sentimentality that doesn't transform. Jesus spoke hard truths about sin, yet ate with sinners. He called people to repentance while defending the accused. As His children, we're called to the same balance. We don't compromise God's standards, but we extend compassion to those struggling. We speak truth, but always in love. This Christmas season, ask God to fill you with both uncompromising truth wrapped in unconditional grace.
Reflection:
Do you tend to lean more toward truth or grace? How can you grow in the area where you're weaker?
