The Hope of Atonement

READ: Isaiah 6:6-7; Hebrews 9:11-14

Devotional:

The burning coal from the altar touched Isaiah's lips, and immediately his guilt was removed, his sin atoned for. This wasn't renovation it was complete removal. The coal represented both God's wrath against sin and His provision for forgiveness through sacrifice. For Isaiah, it pointed forward to the ultimate sacrifice: Jesus Christ. Your sin isn't just covered; in Christ, it's cast as far as the east is from the west. The same holy God who cannot tolerate sin provided the way for sinners to approach Him. The blood of Jesus satisfies divine justice while extending divine mercy. Today, let this truth sink deep: you are forgiven fully, freely, forever. Stop rehearsing your past failures. God has removed them.

Reflection:

Thank God specifically for three sins He's forgiven. Release any guilt you've been carrying.
