Recognizing Our Need

READ: Isaiah 6:5; Romans 3:10-12, 23-24

Devotional:

Before Isaiah could minister to others, he had to confront his own brokenness. "Woe is me! I am ruined!" he cried. This wasn't self-hatred but honest self-assessment in light of God's holiness. We live in a culture that resists acknowledging sin, yet transformation begins with confession. Jesus taught us to remove the log from our own eye before addressing the speck in another's. The gospel isn't about being good enough it's about recognizing we're not and desperately need a Savior. Isaiah's confession of unclean lips represented an unclean heart. What's in the well comes up in the bucket. Today, resist the temptation to compare yourself to others or justify your shortcomings. Instead, humbly acknowledge your need for God's grace.

Reflection:

Journal about areas where pride has kept you from confessing your need for God's ongoing transformation.
