Devotional:

You cannot fulfill your purpose in isolation. The Christian life requires community we are many parts but one body in Christ. Every believer has something valuable to contribute, and every person can teach us something. Pride will derail your purpose, while isolation leads to deterioration. The question isn't "What can the church do for me?" but "What can I do for the body of Christ?" Jesus came not to be served but to serve. Think sensibly about yourself not with self-conceit, which is spiritual insanity, but with humble recognition that you need the Spirit of God, the Word of God, and the people of God to fulfill your calling.

In what ways have you been thinking more highly of yourself than you ought? How can you embrace your need for community this week?
