Surrendering Your Pain to God
Genesis 50:15-21
15 When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said to one another, “If Joseph is holding a grudge against us, he will certainly repay us for all the suffering we caused him.” 16 So they sent this message to Joseph, “Before he died your father gave a command: 17 ‘Say this to Joseph: Please forgive your brothers’ transgression and their sin the suffering they caused you.’ Therefore, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father.” Joseph wept when their message came to him. 18 His brothers also came to him, bowed down before him, and said, “We are your slaves!” 19 But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? 20 You planned evil against me; God planned it for good to bring about the present result the survival of many people. 21 Therefore don’t be afraid. I will take care of you and your children.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.
2 Corinthians 1:3-7
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 6 If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings that we suffer. 7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that as you share in the sufferings, so you will also share in the comfort.

Devotional:
"You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good." Joseph's powerful declaration reveals a profound truth: God's sovereignty is bigger than human sin. The cards you've been dealt in life cannot be changed, but you can choose which cards you play. Will you play the victim card, the blame card, the excuse card? Or will you play the Jesus card surrendering your pain to the God who redeems all things? Your wounds can become your ministry when you release them to God. He is the God of all comfort who comforts us so we can comfort others. Don't let bitterness steal your purpose.

What pain or injustice do you need to surrender to God, trusting Him to bring purpose from it?
