The Framework of Prayer
Matthew 6:9-13
The Lord’s Prayer
9 “Therefore, you should pray like this:
Our Father in heaven,
your name be honored as holy.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And do not bring us into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
your name be honored as holy.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done

11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And do not bring us into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
The Lord's Prayer provides a framework for how we should approach God. It begins with praise ("hallowed be your name"), moves to submission ("your kingdom come, your will be done"), addresses our needs ("give us this day our daily bread"), and concludes with seeking forgiveness and protection. Consider using the PRAY acronym in your prayers today: Praise, Repent, Ask, and Yield. How might this structure deepen your prayer life and align your heart more closely with God's will?
