The Joy of Worshiping the King

Psalm 100

1 Let the whole earth shout triumphantly to the Lord! 2 Serve the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs. 3 Acknowledge that the Lord is God. He made us, and we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and bless his name.5 For the Lord is good, and his faithful love endures forever; his faithfulness, through all generations.did not consider equality with God as something to be exploited. 7 Instead he emptied himself by assuming the form of a servant, taking on the likeness of humanity. And when he had come as a man, 8 he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death—even to death on a cross. 9 For this reason God highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow—in heaven and on earth and under the earth—11 and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The crowds praising Jesus on Palm Sunday remind us of the joy that comes from recognizing and worshiping Christ as King. Reflect on what gives you the deepest joy in life. Is it temporal pleasures or the eternal joy of knowing and serving Jesus? Take time today to express wholehearted praise to God, not just with words, but with your actions and attitudes. How can you cultivate a lifestyle of joyful worship that extends beyond Sunday services?
