Humility in Faith
James 4:6-10
But he gives greater grace. Therefore he says: God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. , Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be miserable and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

This week's sermon emphasized that love comes from a place of weakness, not strength. This paradox echoes throughout Scripture, reminding us that God's power is perfected in our weakness. James tells us that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Reflect on areas of pride in your life - perhaps intellectual, spiritual, or moral pride. How might these be hindering your ability to love others fully? Ask God to reveal any hidden arrogance and to cultivate genuine humility in your heart. Remember, it's in acknowledging our need for God that we position ourselves to receive His love and extend it to others.
